US elimination form the World Cup and Celtics off season.

In my opinion the U.S. was eliminated from the World cup to early. Yes, they did win their group and advanced to the round of 16 but that was not enough for me. This was a better team than in 2006. They were younger, faster, and had players with skill. The reason why they were eliminated was coincidentally the same reason they were eliminated in 2006. Simply put they coach put the wrong players on the field. Ricardo Clark and Robbie Finley should not have started that game against Ghana. Both were subbed out before the second half even started, Clark after turning the ball over that resulted in a goal for Ghana and a yellow card. Robbie Finley was subbed out because he was ineffective as a striker probably because of is inexperience. Those were two subs wasted that did not need to happen. mistakes like that are inexcusable at that stage of the World up. When Maurice Edu was put in the game the U.S. played well, that is enough for me to have him start. As for striker I would personally want Hercules Gomez to start because he is a goal scorer which the U.S. desperately needed.

Now The Celtics, oh God my beloved Celtics how you hurt me so. That Game 7 lost to the Lakers hurt so much. Not only because it was the Lakers but that we were winning the whole game and lost it in the end. The old cliche rings true " so close yet so far." OK, so what to do this off season? My ideas are as follows: Paul Pierce will accept his Player Option or opt out and sign a multi-year deal, attempt to resign Ray Allen for the right price, sign Tony Allen, then use the mid-level exemption to either get a good player or two good players. Pretty much my ideas is to regroup and make another run at the championship. That is the best way to go. The other way is to start a new rebuilding process which the fans and current players do not want.

Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals.

So the Celtics are in the NBA finals and I cannot be happier. Being in the finals 2 out of the last 3 seasons is something really special and has not been scene by Celtics fans in a long time. Being the Celtic fan that I am I say they are going to win. But I am not so naive that I will underestimate the Lakers. The Celtics are going to have to play their best basketball in order for them to win the championship. Their success will depend on the health of Rajon Rondo. He is a huge factor in how they operate now and he can literally take over the game. Hopefully he will be healthy for Game 1.

Celtics 3-2 in ECF and The LOST Series Finale

Ok so the celtics were up 3-0 and had complete control of the series and now the scenario is quite different. While I am not completely panicing or think the series is over for them. I do believe that Game 6 will be the most important game of the season up to this point. Game 4 was key, there was a chance to put the series away in the final seconds and it did not happen. Game 5 was the worst officiated game I have seen in the playoffs. That crew should never be allowed to ref another playoff game. I will admit I am 100% bias when it comes to officals, I absolutely hate them. But, there is no excuse for the level of poor performance by a ref in a possible series ending game. I understand that they make mistakes at times, but you cannot make that many mistakes in an Eastern Conference Final game. Alli ask for from officals is consistency and ther was none in that game.

In the last couple of weeks there were many series and season finales that aired on television. The most notable was that of the show LOST. This is show that despite all its inconsistencies and unanswered questions is a great show. It is good that it challenges the mind and the imagination. It is a reprieve form the mindless reality shows that clutter the tv channels. For those who are inteested in watching I would start directly from the beginning.

As for the Finale I just have few comments. I felt that it was a great epic finale that can make you miss the show. The end could make you tear up, I know I did, if you are the right person. It did a descent job of wrapping up the season. The main problem with it was that it did little to nothing in answering the big questions that had been lingering from previous seasons. I know that not everything was going to be answered, but there was one big question I thought had a chance; Why was Walt Special? That has been a huge question longtime LOST fans really wanted to know. I thought that they would have the perfect oppertunity to answer it this season because of how much was revealed about the Island and its mystical protector Jacob. Hopefully since I hear that some answers will be given on DVD/blu-ray season set that that is one of them. Also when it comes to the confusion about the end,(SPOILER ALERT) the flash sideways that we had been seeing all season was actually them in purgatory. Now the way that can be confusing is, if you are not familiar with the term. It was an interesting and unique way to reunite most of the past characters and give them somewhat of a happy ending. The ending I would categorize as both Happy and sad. It is sad because of Jack's death, and happy because everyone is reunited in purgatory and can ascend to what I assume is Heaven.

Boston Celtics up 2-0 on the Orlando Magic

Now I am just as excited about the celtics as pretty much every fan is. But, I am also not going to expect the Celtics to blow by the Magic in four straight games. If it does happen I will be thrilled, trust me ,nothing would make me more happy than a sweep. The magic are just too talented to nbot atleast win one game. Their main problem is they rely heavily on their 3-point shooting and their jump shot in general and they are just not making their shots. The Celtics defense is definitely playing a role in disrupting their offense. Since the 2007-2008 season the celtics defense has been the best it has been in a really long time. Granted yes this past regular season they struggled mightily defensively. But for some nearly unexplainable reason a switch was turned on and they are playing defense like they did in the championship season. not only their defense but their overall game has improved tremendously. In order for the celtics to get to the finals and win it they need to maintain their current level of play and they cannot keep givong up the lead late in games. If the Celtics do get to the finals their opponent will most likely be the Lakers although I hope Phoenix will put up some type of opposition. All in all I look forward to game 3 and hope the three day wait will not kill the celtics momentum.
